Irene W. Neesmith

 

LEAGUE CITY - Mrs. Irene W. Neesmith passed from this life Wednesday morning, November 3, 2010, in League City.

 

     Born October 17, 1923 in Morganfield, Kentucky, Mrs. Neesmith had been a resident of Galveston County for 40 years, previously of Georgia. A homemaker and longtime member of Arcadia First Baptist Church, Mrs. Neesmith enjoyed knitting and crocheting and was known by many as a devoted fan of the Houston Astros.

 

     She was preceded in death by 17 days by her loving husband of 69 years, Arnie Q. Neesmith; parents, Quay and Pearl (Patterson) Williams; brother, Thomas Joseph Williams; daughter-in-law, Marion Neesmith.

 

     Survivors include her sons, James Quay Neesmith of Anaconda, MT, Thomas Joseph Neesmith and wife, Doris of Rancho Cordova, CA; daughter, Sara Lynne Holiday of League City; daughter-in-law, Sherrill Smith of Dickinson; grandchildren, Daniel Neesmith, Linda Hinsz, Eric Neesmith, Crystal Laman, Trisha Wooden, Tracie Patterson; 9 great-grandchildren.

 

     Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Monday,  November 8, 2010, in the chapel of Hayes Funeral Home with Pastor Brad Heintz officiating.  Interment will follow at Hayes Grace Memorial Park Cemetery.

 

     Friends may call from 5:00 –7:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, 10412 Highway 6, (409) 925-3501.
