LA MARQUE - Mrs. Irma Lara passed from this life Thursday morning, May 5, 2011, in La Marque.
 
     Born April 9, 1931 in Nueva Rosita, Coahuila, Mexico, Mrs. Lara had been a resident of Hitchcock for 10 years, previously living in Galveston since 1958.  She was a homemaker and a longtime member of Sinai Pentecostal Church in Galveston.
 
     She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 31 years, Ramon S. Lara, Sr.; her parents, Antonio and Sara (Rodriguez) Hernandez and her grandson, Elias Vargas.
 
     Survivors include her children, Ruben Pecina and wife, Irma of Dickinson, Dr. Rosie Morales and husband, Roland of Santa Fe, Janie Peralta and husband, Francisco of Austin, Lilia Mugartegui and husband, Luis of Texas City, Ramon Lara, Jr. of Fort Worth, Blanca Lara of Galveston, Barbara Alvarado and husband, Rodolfo of Santa Fe; brother, Daniel Hernandez, Sr. and wife, Aurora of Texas City; grandchildren, Gabby, Angelica, Benjamin, Roland, Jr. MD (Corrie), Fernando, DC (Sharon), Alejandro, Sara, Samantha (Aiden), Abram, Anna (Rick), Mari, Antonio, Lorraine (Jose), Amy (Eddie), Rebecca (Joshua), Angelica, Rodolfo, Jr. Roldan, Amanda; 20 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews, Norma Davalos and husband, Daniel, Dora Elia, Daniel, Jr. and wife, Socorro; numerous other relatives and friends. 
 
     Funeral services will be conducted 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 10, 2011, in the chapel of Hayes Funeral Home with Reverend Mario Gutierrez officiating.  Interment will follow at Forest Park East Cemetery.
 
     Casketbearers will be Dr. Rolando Morales, Jr., Dr. Fernando Morales, Alejandro Morales, Rodolfo Alvarado, Jr., Roldan Alvarado, and Daniel Hernandez, III.  Honorary casketbearer will be Antonio Mugartegui.
 
     Friends may call from 5:30 – 8:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, 10412 Highway 6, (409) 925-3501 with a remembrance service at 7:30 p.m.
