Janice “Renae” Goodson

SANTA FE - Mrs. Janice “Renae” Goodson passed from this life Thursday morning, June 16, 2011, in Alvin.

     Born September 29, 1943 in La Porte, Indiana, Mrs. Goodson had been a resident of Santa Fe for 33 years, previously of Indiana.  She had been employed as a shipping supervisor and clerk for more than 20 years and was a member of Santa Fe Christian Church.  Renae enjoyed playing Bingo, attending church functions, and being “Nana” and “Grams” to her grandchildren.

     She was preceded in death by her daughter, Sandra Elaine Goodson; grandson, Dustin Salas; parents, Robert Fritzen and Dorothea Dean Allen Fritzen; brother, Scott Fritzen; best friend and Bingo partner, Jeanine Bright.

     Survivors include her loving husband of over 51 years, Arland G. Goodson of Santa Fe; daughters, Regina Salas and husband, Juan of Santa Fe, Debra Goodson of Galveston, Amber Goodson and fiancé, Vincent Malfa of Santa Fe; grandchildren, Jennifer Martin and husband, Steven of League City, Serrick Auzston, Audrey Auzston, Sydney Malfa, all of Santa Fe, Juan F. Salas and wife, Sherrie of Frisco, TX, Angela Salas of Deer Park; five great-grandchildren;  brother, Marc Fritzen of Winchester, VA; sisters, Roberta of Nevada, Brenda Frey and husband, Richard of Clifton, TX.

     Funeral services will be conducted 10:00 a.m. Monday, June 20, 2011, at Santa Fe Christian Church with Reverend Darrell Boswell officiating.  Interment will follow at Alta Loma Cemetery under the direction of Hayes Funeral Home.

    Casketbearers will be Marc Fritzen, Jeff Kliest, Vince Malfa, Steven Martin, Juan Salas and Juan F. Salas.  Honorary bearer will be Serrick Auzston.
