Jeanette Marie Yelvington

SAN LEON – Ms. Jeanette Marie Yelvington passed from this life Thursday morning, July 15, 2010, at her home.

     Born July 13, 1958 in Galveston, she was a lifetime resident of Galveston county and had worked for many years as a waitress at the Happy Buddha restaurant in Galveston. An accomplished dressmaker, Jeanette enjoyed making Quinceanera dresses and other specialty items.   She also liked crocheting, eating gumbo, barbeque and being a fun-loving gal with her friends and family.

     She was preceded in death by her parents, Eugene and Carol Ann (Showers) Yelvington and brother, Kevin Haber.

     Survivors include her loving companion, Otis O’Callaghan, Jr. of San Leon; sons, David O’Callaghan and fiancé, Carol of San Leon; Clinton O’Callaghan of Houston, Joseph O’Callaghan of San Leon; daughters, Amber Aguilar and husband, Tony of El Paso, Jessica Blythe of Dickinson, Meagan O’Callaghan, Samantha O’Callaghan, both of San Leon; sisters and brothers-in-law, Victoria and Brian Govreau of League City, Wendy Showers-Gray and husband, John of Austin; grandchildren, Zoey, Lance, Dillon, Mason, Madison, Katlynn, Lexi, Ameah, Alysa, Emma, Robert, Valarie, Annabelle and Dominic.

     Memorial services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Monday, July 19, 2010, in the chapel of Hayes Funeral Home with Chaplain David M. Roberts officiating.  A private cremation was conducted under the direction of Hayes Funeral Home, 10412 Highway 6, (409) 925-3501.
