Geraldine “Jerri” Bentrup
SANTA FE – Mrs. Geraldine “Jerri” Bentrup passed from this life Friday, September 21, 2007, in Texas City. Born December 14, 1928 in Eastland, TX, Mrs. Bentrup had been a resident of Santa Fe for most of her life and had worked as an operator for Lipton Tea in Galveston for 7 years. She was a member of Midway Church of Christ, Mainland Ceramic Club, and a Quilting Club in Eastland; she also enjoyed flower gardening.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 54 years, “Bill” Bentrup; parents, George and Thelma (Dillon) Lasater and is survived by her daughter, Linda Dowell and husband, James of Santa Fe; grandson, James Michael Dowell; granddaughter, Natisha Dowell; great-grandchildren, Kayla Arnold and Ryan Arnold; brother, Glen Lasater of Santa Fe; special friends, Christine Talley and Maxine Newton.
Memorial services will be conducted 6:00 p.m. Thursday, September 27, 2007, at Midway Church of Christ with Mr. Russell McLaughlin officiating. A private cremation will be conducted under the direction of Hayes Funeral Home.
