Joy Marie (Rezek) Beyer Marullo
ALGOA - Mrs. Joy Marie (Rezek) Beyer Marullo passed from this life Monday morning, January 4, 2010, at her home after a long and courageous battle with Lou Gehrig’s Disease (ALS).
Born a native BOI of Galveston on September 19, 1940, Mrs. Marullo had been a lifelong resident of the Algoa and Alta Loma area. She was a member of Arcadia First Baptist Church where she participated in the Handbell Choir, the OWLS Club and had been a wedding coordinator for the church as well. She loved the beach and beachcombing, looking for seashells and enjoyed her pets and all kinds of animals, and she especially loved her many dear and close friends.
Preceded in death by her late husband of 35 years, Richard F. Beyer and parents, John and Ellalouise Eugenia (Johnson) Rezek, she is survived by her husband of 8 years, Frank Marullo of Algoa; son and daughter-in-law, Richard Scott and Amy Marie Beyer of Manhattan, KS; brother, and sister-in-law, John F. and Ronda Rezek of Algoa; niece, Joy Donnell Artes and husband, Pete and son, Colby Wayne Oehlert of Friendswood; nephew, John F. (Rick) Rezek, Jr. of Denver, CO; grandchildren, Richard Travis Beyer, Jonathan Eric Beyer, Nicholas Crane Beyer, all of Manhattan, KS; stepsons and daughters, Daniel Sam Marullo, James Frank Marullo, Cynthia Marie Marullo Powell and Paul William Marullo.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 7, 2010, at Arcadia First Baptist Church with Dr. Rick Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Alta Loma Cemetery under the direction of Hayes Funeral Home.
Casketbearers will be Jonathan Eric Beyer, Richard Travis Beyer, Danny Lee Blumrick, Robert “Bobby” Blumrick, Frank Greathouse and Johnny Rothermel. Honorary bearers will be Nicholas Crane Beyer, Kenny Laird, John F. “Rick” Rezek, Jr. and the Deacons of Arcadia First Baptist Church.
