June Marie Walker


SWEENY - Mrs. June Marie Walker passed from this life into eternal life with her Lord Friday evening, July 4, 2008, in Sweeny.

Born January 20, 1933 in Corsicana, TX, Mrs. Walker was a homemaker and had been a resident of Sweeny for 14 years, previously a longtime resident of Old Ocean. She was a member of His Grace Assembly of God Church in Sweeny, an avid reader and enjoyed watching birds. She loved the beauty of flowers, never missed an episode of “Reba” and “The Price is Right” and was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, who will be greatly missed.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Alton Parker Walker, Jr. and son, Kenny Dale Walker.

Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Gary and Jean Walker, Ronnie and Mary Walker, all of Sweeny; daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Randy Hebert of Pasadena; brother, Jack Herrin of Dickinson; sisters, Jeanette McDaniel of Augusta, GA, Joy Sonderman of Clear Lake; 10 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 9, 2008, at His Grace Assembly of God Church with Reverend Wayne Vinson officiating. Interment will follow at Sweeny Cemetery under the direction of Hayes Funeral Home of Hitchcock.

Casketbearers will be Glenn Alton Carter, Harold Hargrove, Randy Hebert, Jeff Royer, Gary Walker and Ronnie Walker. Honorary bearer will be David Hebert.

Visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m. Tuesday at His Grace Assembly of God Church, 109 West 7th Street, Sweeny, TX 77580.
