Lorraine G. “Lannie” Ober
SANTA FE - Mrs. Lorraine G. “Lannie” Ober passed from this life Wednesday, January 14, 2009, in Gonzales, TX.
Born November 4, 1919 in Winona, MS, Mrs. Ober had been a resident of Santa Fe for 12 years, previously of Galveston. Lannie was one “tuff” lady who could do it all, from sewing to roofing and was admired by all who knew her. She enjoyed spending time gardening and taking trips with her family.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Pete Ober; parents, Arthur and Vivian Gentsch; sisters, Jawweece Floyd, Carolyn Bertrum; brother, Claude Gentsch.
Survivors include her children and their spouses, Russ and Jean Cooper of Chappel Hill, Carl and Doris Cooper of Waelder, Lynette “Scooter” and Ric Ostermayer of Santa Fe, Joseph L. “Dock” Ober of Bryan; stepdaughter and her spouse, Donna and John Karn of Galveston; grandchildren and their spouses, Rusty and Jenni Cooper, Lori and David West, Shane and Jodi Cooper, Gerri Jo and William Strong, Robbin and Jason Tauch, Ricci and Kristina Ostermayer, Pam and Tim Tuley, Billy Schultz; great-grandchildren, Hayden, Codi, Dylan, Ashey, Chantelle, Amber, Bleu, Taylor, Hunter, Kamryn, Courtney, Carly, Anna, Megan, Madison and Mathew; numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 17, 2009, in the chapel of Hayes Funeral Home, Pastor John Newton officiating. Interment will follow at Hayes Grace Memorial Park.
Casketbearers will be Rusty Cooper, Shane Cooper, Chad Gaston, Jason Ostermayer, Ricci Ostermayer and David West.
