Lila Lee Bertrand
HOCKLEY, TX - Mrs. Lila Lee Bertrand passed from this life Monday evening, August 24, 2009, at her home.
Born August 9, 1949 in Galveston, TX, Mrs. Bertrand had been a resident of Hockley for 9 years, previously of Houston. She had been employed as a meat and seafood wrapper with Albertson’s for many years. Lilia enjoyed the outdoors and loved spending time with her grandchildren and dog “Sugar”.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Bertha (O’Conner) Bertrand and daughter, Sherry Rene.
Survivors include her husband, Eugene Jay; daughters, Stacy Martinez of Houston, Nikki Kershner of Colorado; sister, Charlene Monroe of TX and 7 grandchildren.
Memorial services will be conducted 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 5, 2009, in the chapel of Hayes Funeral Home with Chaplain John Morris officiating. A private cremation was conducted under the direction of Hayes Funeral Home, 10412 Highway 6, Hitchcock (409) 925-3501.
