Lovenia McMullen

 

HIGH ISLAND - Mrs. Elvin Lovenia “Mrs. Mac” McMullen passed from this life Wednesday afternoon, January 26, 2011, in Winnie, TX.

 

     Born May 26, 1927 in Pensacola, FL, Mrs. Mac had been a resident of Santa Fe since 1958, living in High Island since 2008.  She had taken care of children her entire life, both in her home and in the nursery of First Baptist Church of Alta Loma.  Mrs. Mac enjoyed embroidering, working in her flower garden and reading the Bible.     

 

     She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Charles Edward McMullen; parents, Thomas Edward and Mary Jane Townley; daughters and son-in-law, Tammy Lee McMullen, Mary and James Barrow; son, Thomas E. Baker, Sr.; grandson, Thomas E. Baker, Jr.; seven sisters and four brothers.

 

     Survivors include her daughter-in-law, Roxanne Baker of Santa Fe; grandchildren, Kendall Barrow, Darla DeMoss, Tanya Baker and Tyra Baker, along with numerous great-grandchildren.

 

     Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 29, 2011, in the chapel of Hayes Funeral Home with Pastor John Newton officiating.  Interment will follow at Hayes Grace Memorial Park Cemetery.

 

     Casketbearers will be Dustin Barrow, Kendall Barrow, Jr., Kendall Barrow, Sr., Ricky Barrow, David DeMoss and Tony Russell.
