Lynn L. Dowell
SANTA FE - Mrs. Lynn L. Dowell passed from this life Tuesday morning, February 1, 2011, in Texas City.
Born February 27, 1943 in Tallahassee, FL, Mrs. Dowell had been a resident of Santa Fe for the past 23 years, previously of Houston. She had worked as an insurance adjuster for 25 years, in addition to being a registered nurse. Lynn enjoyed cooking, gardening and spending time with her family, especially being “Nanny” to her grandchildren.
Survivors include her loving husband of almost 52 years, Carl R. Dowell of Santa Fe; son, Carl R. “Dusty” Dowell, II and wife, Nancy of Crosby; daughters, Pamela Sue Aldridge and husband, Leonard of League City, Mischelle Marie Smith and husband, Gary of LaMarque; grandchildren, Sylvia Mae Fisher, Ashley Nicole Fisher, Robert Nicholas Fisher, Haley Lynn Fisher, Kira Nicole Smith, Thomas Cole Smith; four great-granddaughters.
A memorial service will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 8, 2011, in the chapel of Hayes Funeral Home with Pastor Greg Thurstonson officiating. A private cremation was conducted under the direction of Hayes Funeral Home.
