Margie Jane MacInerney

Texas City - Mrs. Margie Jane MacInerney, 82, passed peacefully from this life Tuesday morning, August 23, 2011, at her home.

Born June 13, 1929 in Galveston, TX, Mrs. MacInerney had been a lifetime resident of Galveston County.  She had been employed with Eibands as a buyer for most of her working life and later as a hostess for Gus’ Barbeque. She was the best mother and the greatest Nana ever known. Margie was a loving sister, aunt, godmother and so much more to so many. Margie enjoyed playing bingo, taking walks, shopping, watching game shows and Touched by an Angel on television, but most of all loved spending time with her family. God got a new angel. She will be missed and in our hearts forever.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Frances “Mac” MacInerney; parents, Peter Michael Ryan, Sr. and Minnie Youngdale; brothers William Albert Ryan, Peter Michael Ryan, Jr. Jack Cagney Ryan and Jerome Stevens Ryan.

Survivors include her daughter, Wanda S. Welch and husband, Larry of Texas City; granddaughter, Misti Autrey; great-grandchildren, Demi Welch, Destini Welch, Gavin Autrey and Keeley Autrey;  sisters Minnie Clawson and husband, Robert “Pud” of Bayou Vista, Maureen Brown and husband, Clint of LaMarque; brother Joe Ryan of Santa Fe; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A private cremation was conducted under the direction of Hayes Funeral Home,(409-925-3501) with memorial services to be scheduled at a later date.
