Mrs.  Marie Pennington
 
SANTA FE - Mrs. Marie Pennington, 72, passed from this life early Wednesday morning, August 27, 2008, at University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston.  Born September 14, 1935 in Texas City, Mrs. Pennington had been a resident of Santa Fe since 1964, previously of Texas City.  She was a member of Midway Church of Christ, enjoyed cooking and baking pies, watching cooking shows on TV and listening to the Gaithers.
 
She was preceded in death by her husband, Franklin D. Pennington; son, Paul Pennington; parents, Willie and Corine Jones; brother, Gene Jones.
 
Survivors include her sons, Terry Pennington and wife, Tammy of Alvin, Stephen Allen Pennington and wife, Tina Marie of Santa Fe; daughter-in-law, Colleen Pennington of Freeport; grandchildren, Aimee and Jamie Sweatt, Nikki Pennington, Willie   Pennington, Sami and Rowland Soto, Kayeleigh and Shawn Hawley, Cheyenne Pennington; great- grandchildren, Annelise Pennington, Hayli Pennington, Rowland Soto, Gavin Pennington, Edward Hawley; brother, Gary Jones of Santa Fe; sister, Patsy Goolsby of Texas City; special nieces, Teresa Nolen and Debbie Linscombe.
 
Graveside services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 29, 2008 at Grace Memorial Park Cemetery with Mr. Russell McLaughlin officiating.
 
Those who wish may make memorials in the form of donations to Midway Church of Christ, 10408 Highway 6, Hitchcock, Texas, 77563.
