Marie Rosenthal Taylor


ANGLETON - Mrs. Marie Rosenthal Taylor passed from this life Tuesday morning, September 15, 2009, in Alvin.

Born April 25, 1928 in San Angelo, Mrs. Taylor had been a resident of Angleton for 3 1/2 years, previously of Hitchcock.  She had been employed with San Angelo ISD as a cafeteria cook for over 10 years, was a member of Peace Lutheran Church where she served in the Altar Guild and Braille workers ministries.  She was also a member of Pythian Sisters of Weatherford, VFW Ladies Auxiliary of San Angelo and enjoyed playing cards.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Frederick Weldon Taylor; daughter, Cynthia Robbins; parents, Fritz and Clara (Knebel) Rosenthal and siblings, Clara Brymer, Dorothy Lee, Martha Jackson, Lee Paul, Frieda Wilson, Victoria Thompson, Fritz, Arthur and Walter Rosenthal. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Andy and Bobbie Taylor of Hitchcock; daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Jim Fifield of Angleton; son-in-law, Johnny Robbins of San Angelo; 6 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Saturday, September 19, 2009, at Peace Lutheran Church in Texas City with Pastor Randy Ledbetter officiating.  Interment will follow at Hayes Grace Memorial Park under the direction of Hayes Funeral Home. Casketbearers will be Thomas Hopkins, Bill Don Jackson, Frank Matejka, Jamie Robbins, Johnny Robbins, Richard Seume and Ray Sherwood.
