Marion Croft Jordan

 

SWEENY - Mrs. Marion Louise (Cook) Croft Jordan passed from this life Saturday afternoon, November 12, 2011, in Angleton.

 

     Born September 24, 1926 in Matagorda to Alfred Vogg and Catherine Yeamans Cook, Mrs. Jordan graduated from Bay City High School and entered St. Mary’s School of Nursing in Galveston as a Cadet Nurse during WWII.  After graduation, she began a 41-year career as a Registered Nurse. While in Galveston, she met Clinton Croft, they married in 1948, were blessed with two children, Daniel and Lynn, and would share a life together until his death in 1983.  She found love again and married Paul Jordan in 1989.  Together they traveled throughout the USA and Europe until his death in 1998.  During her working career, she worked for Dr. Ivan Barber in Hitchcock, County Memorial Hospital in Texas City, and UTMB in Galveston.  She was also a founding member and former organist of All Saints’ Episcopal Church in Hitchcock

 

    Preceded in death by her parents and husbands; survivors include her son, Daniel Croft and wife, Teresa of Freeport; daughter, Lynn Brown and husband, Bobby of Houston; grandchildren, Sean Croft and wife, Stephanie of Missouri City, Eric Croft and wife, Marissa of North Hollywood, CA, Jeremy Roque and wife, Heather of Houston; great-grandchildren, Kyle Croft, Mattison Croft, Jacob Roque, Andrew Roque, Alyssa Roque, Emery Croft, Harper Croft; brother, Alfred Lee Cook of Richwood, TX; sisters, Merle Jones of Jackson, MS, Margaret Massoletti of Lake Jackson; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

 

    Casketbearers will be Eric Croft, Sean Croft, Lee Massoletti, Lesley Massoletti, Steve Massoletti and Jeremy Roque.  Honorary bearers are Larry Anderson, Bubba Cook, David Cook, Lawrence Dellis, Phillip Lohec and Ronald Lohec.

 

     Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 16, 2011, at All Saints’ Episcopal Church, with The Reverend Andrew Parker officiating. Interment will follow at Hayes Grace Memorial Park under the direction of Hayes Funeral Home.

 

   Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, 10412 Highway 6, Hitchcock, (409) 925-3501.

 

    Donations in honor of Mrs. Jordan may be made to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 841125 Dallas, TX 75284-1125 and/or the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 11454, Alexandria, VA 22312.

 

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff and caregivers of The Fountain, Cypress Woods Nursing Home and Amed Hospice for the love and care provided to Mrs. Jordan
