BAYOU VISTA - Mrs. Mary Francis (Macaluso) delaHoussaye passed from this life Thursday morning, September 22, 2011, in Bayou Vista.
Born April 13, 1940 in Houston, TX, Mrs. delaHoussaye had been a resident of Santa Fe since 1972, previously of Houston. A devoted member of the Catholic faith, she was a loving housewife who was dedicated to her family, was an active and devoted member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church (and formerly of Shrine of the True Cross), where she taught CCD, was a member of the Guadalpanas, and loved to garden.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Baldasuro and Francesca (Fruia) Macaluso; brother, Ben Macaluso and sister, Carmela Giacona.
Survivors include her loving husband of over 51 years, Edward Joseph delaHoussaye, III; son, Edward Joseph delaHoussaye, IV, of Bedford; daughter, Judeth Dillon and husband, Stephen, of League City; brother, Raymond Hood and wife, Debbie of Houston; sister, LaVaughn Godiano and husband, Johnny of Houston; grandchildren, Anthony, Vincent, Ashley, Marysa, Megan and Amanda; great-grandchildren, Aubrey and Jayden.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 3:00 p.m. Monday, September 26, 2011, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Reverend John Kappe, Celebrant. Entombment will follow at Mount Olivet Catholic Cemetery under the direction of Hayes Funeral Home, (409) 925-3501.
Casketbearers will be Raymond delaHoussaye, Benny Giacona, Robert Grimm, John M. Harrod, Jimmy Hood and Ted Humphrey.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Sunday at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 10114 Highway 6, (409) 925-3579, with a Vigil Service beginning at 7:00 p.m., Deacon Alvin Lovelady officiating. A Rosary will follow by the Guadalapanas and Knights of Columbus, led by Mr. Don LeCompte.
Those who wish may make memorials in the form of donations to Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic School.
