Mary Lou Sonnier

    

SANTA FE - Mary Lou Sonnier went to be with the Lord on November 13, 2010 at the age of 67. 

    

     She entered this world on November 5, 1943 to parents, Anna Beatrice Rowe and Fred William Clabough in Knoxville, Tennessee.  Mary Lou moved to Corpus Christi, Texas with her mother and sisters in 1953, and moved to Galveston, Texas in 1956 where she graduated from Ball High School in 1962.  She married Joseph Valrie Sonnier on May 14, 1966 and they had two daughters, Keri Lynnette Sonnier and Jolene Sonnier Hanzik.  She spent the last 38 years as a resident of Santa Fe, Texas. 

 

     After her marriage to Joseph, Mary Lou devoted her life to being a housewife and mother.  She had a passion for music and taught herself to play the guitar and organ.  She loved to write music and poetry that expressed her strong faith in the Lord.  She enjoyed serving the Lord and was once a Sunday school teacher.

 

     Her husband, parents and sisters, Linda Clabough and Alice Davila preceded her in death. 

 

     Mary Lou leaves behind her daughter, Keri Sonnier and her children, Austin Sonnier, Katelynn Sonnier, Rosemary Sonnier and Cara Christmann; daughter, Jolene Hanzik and her husband, Kavin and their daughter, Kamryn; sister, Jo Ann Ramirez and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins in Texas and Tennessee also survive her.

 

     A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 17, 2010 at Hayes Funeral Home, 10412 Highway 6, (409) 925-3501, with a visitation beginning at 9:00 a.m.
