Murray Lee Switzer

 

ODESSA - Mrs. Murray Lee Switzer passed from this life Friday afternoon, August 20, 2010, in Odessa, TX.

 

     Born August 31, 1934 in Rosebud, TX, Mrs. Switzer had been a resident of Odessa for 5 years, previously of Brady and Texas City.  She had been employed as a cook for Denny’s in Texas City for over 7 years, was a member of Alvin Missionary Baptist Church and enjoyed cooking, gardening and watching the game show network.

 

     She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Thomas Switzer; son, Paul Dewayne Switzer; parents, Theodore and Eula Mae Brown; brothers, J. T. and Bobby Brown; sisters, Dorothy Floyd, Betty Townsend and JoAnn Anderson.

 

     Survivors include her sons, Ronnie Switzer and wife, Traci of Santa Fe, Gerald Switzer of Odessa; daughter, Debbie Little of Odessa; brother, Wayne Brown of CA; sisters, Nadine Prater, Patricia Bugarin, Barbara Hicks, all of CA; 7 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

 

     Memorial services will be conducted 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 28, 2010, in the chapel of Hayes Funeral Home with Reverend Joe Bozarth officiating. 

 

     Honorary bearers will be Bryan Bradley, Fred Garcia, Clay Little, Paul Little, Ronnie Lynn Switzer, Jr., Steven Switzer and Jason Webster. 

 

       Those who wish may make memorials in the form of donations to the American Diabetes Association, 2400 Augusta Dr., Houston, TX 77057-4989.
