Patricia Ann West

HITCHCOCK - Mrs. Patricia Ann West passed from this life Sunday morning, January 30, 2011, at her home.

     Born July 19, 1935 in Mexia, TX, Mrs. West had been a resident of Hitchcock for 48 years, previously of Galveston.  She was a graduate of Ball High School and had been employed as a secretary for the School of Nursing with UTMB for 17 years, was a member of First United Methodists Church in Hitchcock and a former clerk for the Santa Fe RR in Galveston.  She was a very loving mother and grandmother who enjoyed reading and making jewelry and crafts.

     She was preceded in death by her son, Stephen West; parents, Granville and Callie Rovella (McBride) Killgore; brothers, Ronald and Jerry Killgore; sisters, Sue Record and Betty Ortego.

     Survivors include her loving husband of 55 years, Bennie West of Hitchcock; son, Scott E. West and wife, Diana of Vian, OK; daughter, Lisa Cruz and husband, David, Sr. of San Antonio; grandsons, David Cruz, Jr., Zach Cruz; numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family.

     Funeral services will be conducted 10:00 a.m. Friday, February 4, 2011, in the chapel of Hayes Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Selzer officiating.  Interment will follow at Hayes Grace Memorial Park Cemetery.

     Casketbearers will be David Cruz, Jr., Zach Cruz, John Killgore, David Ortego, Ray Perry and Larry West.  Honorary bearers will be Vernon Plowman, Coy West and Gayle West.
