Phyllis “PJ” Hamilton
HITCHCOCK - Mrs. Phyllis “PJ” Hamilton passed from this life Monday afternoon, February 22, 2010, at her home in Hitchcock.
Born February 23, 1941 in Wynona, Oklahoma, PJ had been a resident of Hitchcock for 33 years, previously of the Oklahoma and Kansas area. She was a hard worker, having worked for First Hutchings-Sealy National Bank and Sears in Galveston before opening PJ’s Lunchbox and Meatmarket in Hitchcock with her husband, Paul. A homemaker at heart, PJ enjoyed cooking, crocheting and taking care of her menagerie of animals, especially her cats. Her greatest joy in life was the years she spent watching her grandchildren grow.
She is survived by her husband of over 50 years, W. Paul Hamilton of Hitchcock; children and their spouses, Beth Hamilton and Phillip; Barbara Hayes and Allen, Walter Hamilton and Sue Ellen, Tammy Seyfried and Edward; 12 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted 10:00 a.m. Thursday, February 25, 2010, in the chapel of Hayes Funeral Home with Pastor Alan Splawn officiating. Interment will follow at Hayes Grace Memorial Park Cemetery.
Casketbearers will be Phillip Abdallah, Christopher Hamilton, Walter Hamilton, T.J. Hamilton, B. J. Martinez and Bart McGuffin.
