Sondra L. Brodt (Turtle)
SANTA FE - Mrs. Sondra L. Brodt (Turtle) passed from this life Friday, November 14, 2008, at her home.
Born July 17, 1939, in Columbus, Ohio, Mrs. Brodt was a resident of Galveston County for 35 years, previously of Houston. She had been employed as a school crossing guard with La Marque Police Department retiring after 7 years of service, was of the Episcopalian faith, founding member of ABATE, a wonderful cook who enjoyed spending time riding motorcycles and taking care of her family.
She was preceded in death by her son, Bobby Sweet; father, Victor Paul Kritner; mother, Frances Louise (Barrett) Langdon; granddaughter, Shannon Kathleen Tracey; great-grandson, Joshua Wade Schmidt; sister, Pauline Lindsey.
Survivors include her loving companion, Frank Hale (Tank) of Santa Fe; son, Paul Sweet and wife, Linh Ta of Houston; daughters, Jo Ann Richmond and husband, Sam of Spicewood, Teresa Kelly and husband, Thomas of Cut-N-Shoot, TX; 7 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 18, 2008, in the chapel of Hayes Funeral Home with Reverend David Kirkaldy officiating. A private cremation will be conducted under the direction of Hayes Funeral Home.
