Violet was born and raised in Galveston, TX on February 7, 1924, where she spent many years as a commercial lady fisherman. She loved to fish with her sister Gertrude Morgan. Violet also spent many years taking care of children in her home-based childcare business in Santa Fe, TX. Violet was a very loving, caring, and compassionate woman. She loved her church family at Arcadia First Baptist Church where she was a member for many years. Anyone who saw or knew Violet saw a woman with a beautiful smile on her face and God’s grace in her beautiful blue-violet eyes. To Violet, no one was ever a stranger. She had a zest and zeal for life that even the fires of cancer could not extinguish. Violet was truly an amazing woman of God and her faith carried her through the many trials in life. She would always say to her children,  “Trust in Jesus.” To our Violet Mother: Until we meet again, we love you and we will miss you. The world lost an angel when it lost you. Fly high in Heaven mother, fly high in Heaven!
