Willie Ann (Milligan) Mize
SANTA FE - Ms. Willie Ann (Milligan) Mize passed from this life Friday afternoon, March 20, 2009, in Texas City.
Born May 22, 1941 in Galveston, TX, Ms. Mize had been a lifelong area resident. She had been a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witness in Hitchcock and enjoyed spending time with her cats, playing cards, especially canasta and gardening flowers and plants. Willie was one of those ladies that had never met a stranger and was always willing to help her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward Alford and Victoria (Anselmo) Milligan and is survived by her daughter, Lisa O’Donnell Rice and husband, Shannon of Alvin; grandchildren, Garrett Christopher Rice, Madison Lynn Rice; brothers, Jerome Milligan of Santa Fe, Patrick Milligan of Hitchcock; sisters, Amanda Beard and husband, Lee of Oklahoma, Minnie Scott of Austin, Alene Holmstrom of Katy, Rosalie Hanzik and husband, Malvin of Pearland, Anna Williford and husband, John of Breaux Bridge, LA, Johnnie Turner and husband, Byron of Friendswood, Frances Wooten and husband, Dillon of Santa Fe; numerous nieces, nephews and other family.
A memorial service will be conducted 6:30 p.m. Monday, March 23, 2009, at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witness Church with Robert E. Lee officiating. A reception will follow immediately after the memorial service in the Club House at Santa Fe Plaza Apartments, 12200 11th St. in Santa Fe. A private cremation was under the direction of Hayes Funeral Home, 10412 Highway 6, Hitchcock (409) 925-3501.
