Terry Lee Etzel

 

January 21, 1960 ~ April 21, 2011

 

     Terry Lee was born at St. Mary’s Hospital in Galveston, Texas on January 21, 1960.  He died in West Texas on April 21, 2011 from an accident.

 

     Terry is survived by his wife of 13 years, Stacie Voigt Etzel; sons, Michael Dean Nall, Tyler Golden, and AFC-1 Taylor Mogford, who is stationed at Mildenhall A.F.B. in England. Terry is also survived by his mother, Selma A. Etzel of Santa Fe; sisters, Theresa Etzel Jacks, Sylvia C. Sendejas and Michael; brothers, Howard A. and Beverly, David C. and Kimberly; grandson, Connor Nall; mother and father-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Voigt of D’Hanis; brother-in-law, Kenneth Voigt and his wife; grandmother, Margaret Kuentz; sisters and brother-in-laws, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many, many other loved ones and friends, including his lifelong friends Steve Plash and Amos Reed.  Terry was also so very proud of his great nephew, Ryan Alexander Howard Etzel.

 

     He was preceded in death by his loving father, Howard A. Etzel, Jr. on April 25, 2010.

 

     Terry’s favorite hobbies were scuba diving in many waters, sky diving, motorcycling and tubing on the Guadalupe River with his beautiful wife, Stacie. 

 

     Visitation will be at Hayes Funeral Home, 10412 Highway 6 in Hitchcock, Texas (409) 925-3501 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday.  Chapel services will be held at Hayes Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 27, 2011, officiated by Reverend Del Toler.  Interment will follow at Galveston Memorial Park in Hitchcock.

 

     Pallbearers will be Michael Honeycutt, Gary A. Beall, Uncle Foster L. Spurlock, Uncle Marion Anderson, Uncle Tommy C. Wells and Kenneth Voigt, II.  Honorary bearers will be Uncle James D. Etzel and Uncle Robert E. Spurlock.

 

     Those who wish to honor Terry’s memory may consider making memorials to Hospice Care Team, 1708 N Amburn Rd, Suite C, Texas City, TX 77591-2436.

 

     God didn’t promise days without pain, laughter without sorrow or sun without rain.  But God did promise strength for the day, comfort for the tears and a light for the way.  And for all who believe in His kingdom of love, He answers their faith with peace from above.  You have found that Peace, Terry…. your mother.
