Terry Ray Merchant

 

ALGOA - Mr. Terry Ray Merchant passed from this life Thursday, January 6, 2011, in Alvin.

 

     Born June 13, 1958 in Houston, TX, Mr. Merchant had been a lifetime resident of Galveston County.  He had been employed as a maintenance technician and attended church at St. Mary’s of The Miraculous Medal in Texas City. Terry enjoyed scuba diving, cruising, traveling and was an avid pilot.

 

     He was preceded in death by his father, Claude Davis Merchant; brother, Garry Jay Merchant. 

 

     Survivors include his mother, Betty Merchant of Alvin; long time friend, Freddy; brothers, Steve Merchant and wife, Diane of Key Largo, FL, Stephen Franz and wife, Kathy of Houston, Clifford Merchant and wife, Lisa of Algoa; sister, Donna Hinnant of George West, TX; numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family.

 

      A graveside memorial service will be conducted 3:30 p.m. Thursday, January 13, 2011 at Galveston Memorial Park Cemetery, 7301 Memorial Drive, Hitchcock, with Reverend Tom Ponzini and Deacon Joe Hensley officiating, under the direction of Hayes Funeral Home, (409) 925-3501.
