Victor Murello

 

SANTA FE - Mr. Victor Murello passed from this life Monday morning, January 26, 2009, in Texas City.

 

     Born November 4, 1923 in Alta Loma, Mr. Murello had been a lifetime resident of Santa Fe and was employed as a products and distribution operator with Marathon Oil Company for 36 years. He was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus Council #10393, and V.F.W. Post #5400 in Santa Fe and avidly enjoyed working in his vegetable garden and selling them to our local grocery stores.

 

     He was preceded in death by his son, Victor Murello, Jr.; daughter, Rose Mary Murello; parents, Joseph Anthony and Rose (Muscanere) Murello; brother, Joe Murello; sisters, Carmella Tibaldo and Josephine Cambiano.

 

     Survivors include his loving wife of over 61 years, Nora Murello of Santa Fe; sons, Joseph “Jay” Murello and wife, Charmaine of Gause, TX, Patrick Murello and companion, Pamela Buffett of Santa Fe; daughter, Elizabeth Richardson and husband, Rev. Wayne of Del Rio; grandchildren, Victor Richardson, Kelly Richardson, Jayson Murello, Ashley Hughes, Virginia Murello, Caroline Murello; great-grandchildren, Gabrielle Bilek, Karsten Bilek, Mia Bilek and Jovi Hughes.

 

     A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Thursday, January 29, 2009 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church with Rev. John Kappe, celebrant.  Interment will follow at Galveston Memorial Park Cemetery.

 

     Casketbearers will be Billy Hadley, Bernard Motl, Joe Murello, Jerome Russo, Victor Russo and Nick Sckittone. Honorary bearers will be Blair Bilek, Chuck Hadley, Tom Motl and Nolan Sckittone.

 

     Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at Hayes Funeral Home, 10412 Hwy 6, Hitchcock, (409) 925-3501. A Vigil Service will begin at 7:00 p.m. conducted by Deacon Joe Kelly and Rev. Wayne Richardson with a Rosary to follow led by the Knights of Columbus.
