William Bernard Vitek

 

ALVIN – Mr. William Bernard Vitek passed from this life Monday, January 3, 2010, peacefully at his home.

 

     Born October 20, 1954 in Chicago, Illinois, Mr. Vitek had been a resident of Santa Fe since 1973, previously of Linden Hurst, Illinois.  He had been employed with BP/Amoco as a machinist for over 20 years.  William enjoyed barbequing and was a member of the BP cook off team. He also enjoyed being a mechanic, especially working on cranes, dancing and was a life time member of the Houston Live Stock Show and Rodeo.     

 

     He was preceded in death by his parents, Bernard John and Jean O. (Mowery) Vitek.

 

     Survivors include his son, Clinton John Vitek of Breckenridge, CO; brother, Richard Vitek and wife, Cynthia of Newark, DE; nieces, Dana Vitek of Newark DE, Leslie Vitek of Smyrna, DE; nephews, Will Vitek and James Vitek both of Newark DE. 

 

     Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 8, 2011, in the chapel of Hayes Funeral Home with Pastor Tom Medlin officiating.
