SANTA FE - Mr. Arthur Roger Eernisse passed from this life Wednesday evening, November 1, 2017, in Texas City.

Born August 31, 1941 in the family home on 5th and Jackson in Arcadia, Texas, Roger spent his lifetime living in the Arcadia community. He grew up on his family’s dairy farm before proudly serving his country in the United States Air Force. After his service, he began his career as a Chemical Plant Operator for Mobil Chemical Company in Pasadena, retiring after 38 years. Once he retired, he compassionately served others for many years as an integral staff member of Hayes Funeral Home. Roger was a member of the Dayspring Church in Santa Fe, loved the outdoors and being with his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Milton Arthur and Berlie Josephine (Rogers) Eernisse; brother, Michael Eernisse.

Survivors include his loving wife of 52 years, Marjorie Eernisse; sons, Michael Eernisse and wife, Angie of Corpus Christi, Milton Alan Eernisse and wife, Kelly; daughter, Kasondra Shaver and husband, Rodney; brothers, John Mangum Eernisse all of Santa Fe, Ralph Eernisse and wife, Mary Ann of Sugarland; sisters, Joyce Stanley of Alabama, Sarilda Eernisse of Santa Fe; grandchildren, Brittney Deckerhoff, Tiffney Scale, Tony Eernisse, Kindra Shaver, Drew Shaver, Payton Eernisse, Trevor Eernisse, Neal Eernisse; great-grandchildren, Israel Saldivar, Joseph Scale, Oliver Scale, Owen Eernisse and Lilliana Eernisse.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, November 6, 2017, in the chapel of Hayes Funeral Home, with Pastor Brad Drake officiating. Interment will follow at South Park Cemetery.

Visitation with the family will be from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, 10412 Highway 6, Hitchcock, TX (409) 925-3501.
