David “Bubba” Michael Leining, Jr.
SANTA FE - Mr. David “Bubba” Michael Leining, Jr. passed from this life Friday evening, February 9, 2018, in Buffalo, TX.
Born October 4, 1973 in Texas City, Jr. Leining had been a lifelong resident of Santa Fe. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps before beginning his career as a construction foreman, working for Siemens Wind Division for the last 8 years. Bubba was a renowned archer. He loved hunting, and hunted all over the U.S. and Canada. He loved riding his Harley, hanging out with his family and friends, and being the center of attention – which came so naturally to him. He was very much loved and will be forever missed.
He was preceded in death by his father, David Michael Leining, Sr.; grandparents, James and Elsie Freeman; grandfather, Wilfred Leining and grandmother, Sylvia Robbins.
Survivors include his mother and stepfather Wanda and Rick Kidd; stepmother, Michelle Leining; sons, James Leining, Shane Leining; girlfriend, Nicole Jernigan and her sons, Carson and Mason; sisters, Michelle “Mikki” Tadlock, Randi Salinas, Lauren Leining, Ricque Kidd, Rohnee Kidd, Mikayla Flowers, and their families; brother, Brian Leining; stepsisters, Brandi Keithley, Misty Gerdes; stepbrother, Justin Whetstein; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 14, 2018, in the chapel of Hayes Funeral Home.
Honorary casket bearers will be Brian Leining, Donnie Ekstrom, Jason Davis, Larry Byrket, Ernest Trigo and Chuck Feigle.
Visitation with the family will be from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, 10412 Highway 6, Hitchcock, TX (409) 925-3501.
