ALGOA – Mrs. Edith Achille passed from this life Tuesday evening, October 11, 2016, in Webster. Born May 10, 1932 in Galveston, TX, Mrs. Achille was a longtime resident of Algoa. Edith was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, she was a former cafeteria worker at Santa Fe Elementary, had sold Avon for many years, enjoyed cleaning house, cooking and especially loved her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Otis C. O’Callaghan and Margaret (Forster) White; husband, P. G. Achille; great-grandson, Cody Lesco.
Survivors include her sons, Gerry Achille of Huntsville, David Achille and wife, Teresa of Algoa; daughters, Margaret Vitek and husband, Mike of Santa Fe, Kayleen Gates and husband, James of Algoa; grandchildren, Mike Vitek, Stefanie Lesco and husband, Jeff, Keli and Matt Collins, Chase Achille and wife, Valia, Clint Schaeper and wife, Sarah, Jacob Schaeper; great-grandchildren, Megan Lesco, Mason Lesco, Ashley Vitek, Matthew Collins, Cooper Collins, Colton Schaeper, Alyssa Cerbin; brothers, Robert White and wife, Theresa of Waller, Ron Ostermayer and wife, Carol of Clear Lake; brother-in-law, Nick Achille of Santa Fe; sister-in-law, Dora O’Callaghan of Santa Fe; numerous nieces, nephews and in-laws.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Friday, October 14, 2016, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church with Reverend John Kappe, Celebrant. Interment will follow at Galveston Memorial Park Cemetery.
Casketbearers will be Bubba Achille, Chase Achille, Matt Collins, Jeff Lesco, Clint Schaeper and Jacob Schaeper.
Visitation will be held from 5 - 7 p.m. Thursday at Hayes Funeral Home, 10412 Highway 6, (409) 925-3501, with a Vigil Service beginning at 7:00 p.m. with Deacon Joe Kelly officiating. A Rosary will follow recited by Mr. Don LeCompte.
