March 25, 1952 ~ September 13, 2017 (age 65) 65 Years Old

Gregory Albert "Greg" Fleming

Gregory Albert “Greg” Fleming embarked on a wondrous journey on September 13, 2017, to reunite with Dad, Mom, past family and friends and mark the path for us to follow. Born on Island (BOI) March 25, 1952, Greg spent his early childhood in Galveston. At 7, the family moved to League City where he attended League City Elementary, Webster Intermediate and Clear Creek High School, graduating in 1970. On August 22, 1971, Greg married his high school sweetheart, Pam Lynam, sharing many adventures together while living in Dickinson and San Leon.

Greg worked hard and played hard. He entered the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) union in 1971 and completed his apprenticeship in 1975. He worked on the American National Building and the Port in Galveston. In Houston, Greg worked at the U.S. Steel Mill, Enron Minute Maid Astros Park, NRG Texans Stadium and various construction projects around the area. Additionally, he traveled the country building power generating plants in Colorado and servicing electric stations throughout the West.

Like his Dad, Greg could build and work on most anything. He possessed a unique mechanical mind that could figure out many technical challenges. Electrical, carpentry, welding, hvac, plumbing, auto mechanic – he could do it all. He provided a great example of how to get the job done right. He built houses in Galveston, San Leon and Homer, Alaska.

Greg was an outdoorsman. From youth to seasoned veteran, Greg fished the Texas coasts and bays of Alaska. He hunted the Texas marshes and hill country and the big mountains of Colorado and Wyoming. Ducks, geese, dove, trout, redfish, flounder, deer, antelope, elk and more were his pursuit. Life-long friendships with Joe, Pat, Steve, Boyd, Jane, David, Russell, Ralph, Don and many others yielded an abundant harvest for all to share. Greg enjoyed full stringers and bulging game bags – more importantly he loved the excitement and thrill of just being in the great outdoors.

He lived an adventurous life. At times, some would experience his rough exterior; however, he was kind with a big heart and generously offered a helping hand to family, friends and strangers. Greg touched many lives and will be missed, but never forgotten.

Greg is preceded in death by his parents, Darby and Liz Fleming, his in-laws O.B. and Marie Lynam, and brother-in-law Robert D. Lynam. In his passing, he is survived by his wife of 46 years, Pam; his brothers, sisters and their spouses - B.K., Chris and Kim, Matt and Suzie, Darve` and Mark Hamman; sister-in-law Patricia Lynam, sister-in-law Margaret Lynam Lauletta and husband John; many nieces and nephews will carry on his legacy.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Butler’s Courtyard, 122 N. Michigan Avenue, in League City on Thursday, September 28, 2017 at 3pm. Casual “Greg” attire for those in attendance.
