James Darwin Cook

     SANTA FE – Mr. James Darwin Cook passed from this life Monday afternoon, August 8, 2016, in Texas City. Born August 13, 1938 in Diboll, Mr. Cook had lived 60 years in Santa Fe and Hitchcock. James was the owner of Buffalo Springfield Ice House, he was a rancher who loved to hunt and fish, enjoyed life and being around people, especially his grandchildren.

     He is preceded in death by his parents, Mark and Othal Cook; brothers, Mark Cook, Joe Cook; sisters, Florida and Emma Jean.

     Survivors include his sons, Lan and wife, Cristina Cook of Dickinson, Darwin Bob Cook of League City; grandchildren, Bobbie Ann and husband, Ronnie Burns, Ryan Matthew Cook; great-grandchildren, Tatum, Pyper and Everliegh Burns.

     A visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday, August 12, 2016, in the chapel of Hayes Funeral Home, 10412 Highway 6, Hitchcock, TX (409) 925-3501. A private cremation was conducted under the direction of Hayes Funeral Home. \
