SANTA FE - Mrs. Jean (Harrell) Beverly passed from this life Tuesday evening, November 15, 2016, in Galveston.

Born June 12, 1942 in Galveston, Mrs. Beverly had been a resident of Santa Fe since 1988. Jean was an avid artist and hobbyist.  She loved painting watercolors, producing porcelain dolls and vases and sewing. She was the recipient of the prestigious Texas Gulf Coast Ceramic Show champion artist award.  She taught many friends how to do ceramics over the years.  More importantly, Jean was a devoted wife and mother.  She cared for, with full devotion and tireless effort, her daughter Debbie, with special needs.  Despite many challenging circumstances Jean never faulted in her faith and love for Jesus.  She has been a long-standing member of Calvary Crossroads Church and loved it dearly. She will be deeply missed, but is now in the arms of Jesus and made perfect. Love you Momma.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond Harrell and Elizabeth (Divine) Harrell Lynch; daughter, Debbie Caroline Beverly; sister, Joan Harrell Emitte.

Survivors include her loving husband of 53 years, Eugene Beverly; daughters, Becky Durham and husband, Scott of Mapleton, Illinois, Elizabeth Elaine Betterton of Seattle, Washington; grandchildren, Anna, Audrey and Samuel Durham of Mapleton, Illinois; niece, Sara Truhitte and husband, Daniel of Anna, Texas.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 19, 2016, in the chapel of Hayes Funeral Home, with Pastor Del Toler officiating.  Interment will follow at Hayes Grace Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation with the family will be from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, 10412 Highway 6, Hitchcock, TX (409) 925-3501.
