Jonquil Edith Stafford

     TEXAS CITY - Mrs. Jonquil Edith Stafford passed from this life Thursday morning, June 15, 2017, in Galveston.

     Born January 31, 1930 in Eunice, Louisiana, Mrs. Stafford had been a resident of Galveston and Texas City for most of her life. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Texas City, graduated Ball High School in 1948 and Galveston Junior College in 1971. Mrs. Stafford had been a registered nurse at UTMB for 25 years. She enjoyed traveling and reading.

     She was preceded in death by her parents, John L. and Edith (Williams) Talevich; husband, Sidney Sanford Stafford, Sr.

     Survivors include her sons, Sidney Stafford, Jr. of Texas City, Guy M. Stafford, II of La Marque; brothers, Leonard H. Talevich of West Columbia, Tommy Talevich and wife, Gloria of The Woodlands; sister, Patricia Ann Blanton of Port Arthur.

     Memorial services will be 1:00 p.m., Saturday June 24, 2017, in the chapel of Hayes Funeral Home.

      Visitation with the family will be from 12:00 – 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home, 10412 Highway 6, Hitchcock, TX (409) 925-3501.
