HITCHCOCK – Mr. Julio C. Garcia passed from this life Saturday, October 14, 2017, in Texas City.

Born April 19, 1929 in Galveston, Mr. Garcia had been a resident of Hitchcock since 1955. He had worked as a longshoreman for 35 years, was a member of I. L. A. Local #20 and enjoyed baseball, especially the Astros and fishing.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Alberto and Rafaela (Herrera) Garcia and wife of 63 years, Leonor Garcia.

Survivors include his son, Edward Garcia and wife, Bobbi of Santa Fe, Ralph Garcia and wife, Lori of Dickinson; sisters, Rosaura Ramos of Matamoros, Mexico, Guadalupe Jaramillo of Baytown, Francisca Moreno of Matamoros, Mexico; brothers, Severino Garcia and Julian Garcia of Houston; 6 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 17, 2017 at the mausoleum chapel of Hayes Grace Memorial Park, with Reverend John Kappe officiating.

Visitation with the family will be from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. Monday in the chapel of Hayes Funeral Home, 10412 Highway 6, (409) 925-3501. www.HayesFuneralHome.com
