Mike “Mic” David, Jr.

SANTA FE - Mr. Mike “Mic” David, Jr. passed from this life Monday morning, July 2, 2012, at his home.

     Born July 17, 1932 in Alta Loma, Texas, Mr. David had been a lifelong resident of Alta Loma. He proudly served his country in the United States Army, spending the remainder of his career as a truck driver for Bay Concrete for over 35 years before retiring.  Mike was a lifetime member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, and loved to fish and mow the grass.

    He was preceded in death by his wife, Alice E. (Hardung) David; father, Mike David, Sr.; mother, Mildred Jay; son, Clifford Lee Cummins, Sr. and sister, Agnes Mildred Granlund.

     Survivors include his son, Allen Cummins, Jr. and wife, Helen; sister, Nora Mae Richard and husband, Homer; 6 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

      Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, July 5, 2012, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Reverend C. Wayne Clement officiating.  Interment will follow at Alta Loma Cemetery under the direction of Hayes Funeral Home.

      Pallbearers will be Jerrell David, Sr., Melvin David, Rob Frieda, James Koopmann, Christopher Martinez and Dale Patterson.

     Visitation with the family will be from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at Hayes Funeral Home, 10412 Highway 6, (409) 925-3501.
