SANTA FE - Mr. Richard Alan Longmire passed from this life Friday evening, August 12, 2016, in Hitchcock.

Born March 23, 1965 in Galveston, Mr. Longmire had been a lifelong resident of Santa Fe. Richard was a volunteer fire fighter and EMT with Santa Fe Fire and Rescue, a counselor for HEB Youth Camp, coached Little League Baseball, was a member of the Santa Fe Booster club, and loved his Australian Shepherd “Asa”.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Thomas Longmire.

Survivors include his loving wife of almost 30 years, Denise Longmire; parents, Dr. Warren T. and Theresa Longmire of Hitchcock; mother-in-law, Pat Register of Hitchcock; son, Patrick and wife, Ariel Longmire of Wrangell, Alaska; daughter, Jenifer and husband, Matt Gerald of Wrangell, Alaska; brothers, Stephen Longmire of Houston, James Longmire of Flatonia; sisters, Marian Longmire of Santa Fe, Lisa Osborne of Houston; sister-in-law, Charlene and husband, Scott Haygood of Hitchcock; nephew, Sean and wife, Isa Osborne of Houston; niece, Shannon Osborne of Houston; grandchildren, Bryce Gerald and Abigail Gerald.

Visitation with the family will be at 6:00 p.m. Friday, August 19, 2016 with a memorial service beginning at 7:00 p.m. in the chapel of Hayes Funeral Home, with Mr. Richard Pourchot and Mr. Mike Honeycutt officiating.  A private cremation was conducted under the direction of Hayes Funeral Home.

Memorials in the form of donations may be made in Richard’s name to Harbor Light Youth, Post Office Box 1936, Wrangell, Alaska 99929.
