Robert Warren “Bob” Burk, Sr. 

     SANTA FE - Mr. Robert Warren “Bob” Burk, Sr. passed from this life Wednesday afternoon, October 12, 2016, in Webster. 

     Born May 10, 1934 in Baytown, TX, Mr. Burk had been a resident of Santa Fe since 1966, previously of LaMarque. He worked as a pipefitter/welder and was a member of the Pipefitter Local #211 since 1953. Bob was a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church, a life member of the Santa Fe Fire and Rescue, the Santa Fe Lions Club, served as an officer at Santa Fe Senior Citizens, a volunteer and a member of the Galveston County Fair and Rodeo and a volunteer with Santa Fe Citizen’s on Patrol. 

     He was preceded in death by his parents, Adolph Huland and Annie Lorys (Tyler) Burk; wife, Virginia Ann (Parten) Burk; mother-in-law, Wilma Parten; brother-in-law, Walter E. Benskin. 

     Survivors include his son, Robert W. Burk, Jr. and wife, Teresa; daughter, Melondy Bender and husband, Arthur all of Santa Fe; sister, Martha Lou Benskin of Kenard; sister-in-law, Julia Parten of Madisonville; brothers-in-law, Earl Wayne Parten and wife, Janet, Jack Parten all of Madisonville; grandchildren, Arthur Adam Bender and his wife, Jill of New Castle, Oklahoma, Robert Christopher Bender and fiancé, Patty Castaneda of Santa Fe; great grandchildren, Robert Jordan Bender of Itasca, Miguel Torres of Santa Fe; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.   

     Visitation with the family will be from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m.. Monday, October 17, 2016 with funeral services beginning at 6:00 p.m all at Aldersgate United Methodist Church, 13217 FM 1764, Santa Fe, TX with Reverend Yohan Baek officiating. Graveside service and interment will be at 12 noon Tuesday, October 18, 2016 at the Madisonville City Cemetery in Madisonville, TX, under the direction of Hayes Funeral Home, 10412 Highway 6, (409) 925-3501,

     Pallbearers will be Adam Bender, Chris Bender, Joe Benskin, Robert Meek, Tim O’Briant, Tommy Anderson, Greg Seay and Bobby Wright.  Honorary Bearers will be Albert Bender, Bobby Knape, Jack Parten and Earl Wayne Parten. 

     Memorials in the form of donations may be made in Bob’s name to The Santa Fe Lion’s Club, 5408 FM 2004, Hitchcock, Texas 77563.
