Robert L. “Pud” Clawson, Sr.

BAYOU VISTA - Mr. Robert L. “Pud” Clawson, Sr. passed from this life Saturday afternoon, August 20, 2016, in Galveston.

Born June 28, 1934 in Galveston, Mr. Clawson had been a lifelong resident of Galveston County. Robert had worked for Valero for over 50 years, enjoyed playing softball, playing his guitar and fishing.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Edward and Grace Marie (Poland) Clawson; son, Robin Lynn Clawson and brother, Clyde Edward Clawson.

Survivors include his loving wife of 41 years, Minnie Clawson; children, Judy Clawson Cone and husband, Everett of Luce Dale, MS, R.L. Clawson, Jr. and Phillip Clawson of Austin, Joyce Slayton Dushman of Pasadena, Lynda Stubblefield and husband, Glen of Texas City, Robert Dushman and wife, Elizabeth of Deer Park, Earl Wills of Santa Fe; 12 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 24, 2016, in the chapel of Hayes Funeral Home.  Interment will follow at Hayes Grace Memorial Park Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Earl Wills, Earl Wills, III, Bobby Wills, Daniel Wade, Robert Dushman, Jr. and Jerry Johnson.  Honorary bearer will be Clint Brown.

Visitation with the family will be from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, 10412 Highway 6, Hitchcock, TX (409) 925-3501.
