ALGOA - Mrs. Sharon Caroline Pierce passed from this life Thursday evening, July 14, 2016, in Galveston. 

Born February 22, 1943 in Galveston Mrs. Pierce had been a lifelong resident of the area. She was a member of All Saints Episcopal Church, an avid animal lover, enjoyed bingo and dancing. Sharon loved her family, friends and especially her grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe Ellsworth and Mary Adaline (Gillette) Eberle; husband, Gene Pierce.

Survivors include her step-sons, Larry and wife, Debbie Pierce of Columbus, Gary and wife, Mary Ann Pierce of Santa Fe; step-daughter, Deloris and husband, Dewey Butler of Bayou Vista; brothers, Richard and wife,  Mary Eberle of Texas City, Joe and wife, Mary Eberle of Houston; grandchildren, Jason Butler, Greg Pierce, Travis and wife, Shannon Pierce, Brent and wife, Dara Pierce, Misha and husband, Jerry Hockenbury, Stacie and husband, Larry Ray; 10 great-grandchildren; niece, Sara Eberle; nephews, Ryan and Josh Eberle; great-nieces, Clara and Elise Eberle; great-nephews, Grant, Brett and Neil Eberle.   

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 19, 2016, in the chapel of Hayes Funeral Home, with The Reverend Mark M. Marmon officiating.  Interment will follow at Hayes Grace Memorial Park Cemetery. 

Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Jason Butler, Jerry Hockenbury, Brent Pierce, Greg Pierce, Travis Pierce, and Larry Ray. 

Visitation with the family will be from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, 10412 Highway 6, Hitchcock, TX (409) 925-3501.  

Memorials in the form of donations may be made in Sharon’s name to, All Saints Episcopal Church, 10416 Highway 6, Hitchcock, Texas 77563.
