Steven Glenn Williams

     Steven G. Williams of Clear Lake was born May 31, 1953 to B. L and Jo Williams in Alexandria, Louisiana and passed away after a long battle with cancer, January 1, 2018.

     Steve spent most of his early life in Alexandria and graduated from Alexandria Senior High in 1971. Steve moved to Longview, Texas with his family in 1972 and worked as a QC inspector with Standard Tool and Wellman Industries. Steve was promoted at Wellman Industries to Shipping and Procurement Manager and later accepted a job with MW Kellogg in Houston in the late 70’s. In 1985 Steve and his dad opened Santa Fe Pawn and Jewelry. Later it evolved to what is known as Santa Fe Pawn and Music which has been open for 32 years. Later on Steve also built what would become SFM Productions which has been the sound company for the Galveston County Fair and Rodeo for 20 plus years and various other local festivals and venues.

     Steve was a musician and band leader from an early age. His love of music and the promotion of music was his passion in life. The knowledge of music and his ability to share this knowledge brought Steve much enjoyment and many lifetime friendships. Steve was an accomplished guitar player and sound producer. Steve also constructed a great deal of his sound equipment.

     Steve was an avid bass fisherman and loved being with friends and family at the Williams camp at Lake Livingston. Steve also enjoyed hunting and his Sunday NASCAR races. Steve is a member of Living Faith Outreach Church in Dickinson. Steve’s faith and strength in his father brought him much comfort and peace through the years and with his ordeal with cancer.

     Steve is survived by his mother, Jo Williams of Clear Lake; daughters, Melissa Williams and husband, Jerry Clark of Alvin, Krystal Ray of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, Ashley Harms and husband, Mathew of Pearland; brothers, Robert Williams and wife, Judy of Shore Acres, Texas, Paul Williams and wife, Shannon of Crystal Beach; grandchildren, Elizabeth, Isabella, Sebastian, Katherine, Nicholas, Shane, Kendall, William and Levi; great-grandchildren, Simon and Lucina; numerous nieces and nephews.

     Visitation will be Saturday January 6, 2018, from 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. with a service beginning at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Hayes Funeral Home, 10412 Highway 6, Hitchcock, Texas (409) 925-3501, with Mr. Jeffry Searle officiating.

     Memorials in the form of donations may be made in Steven’s name to American Cancer Society, Post Office Box 22478, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, 73123 or any charity of your choice.
