LA MARQUE - Mr. Walter Hamilton passed from this life Monday, July 24, 2017, in Lake Jackson.
Born February 23, 1963 in Bartlesville, Oklahoma, Walter had been a resident of La Marque since 2014, previously of Hitchcock. He had worked the majority of his life as a meat cutter, and since 2011 had worked with Arlan’s Market as the market manager in their Santa Fe, Seabrook and most recently their Lake Jackson locations. He operated PJ’s Lunchbox and Meat Market in Hitchcock with his parents for many years and was often recognized for his “Killer Burger” challenge. He was a former volunteer firefighter with Santa Fe Fire and Rescue and enjoyed making jewelry, collecting coins, old relics and M & M memorabilia and attended Pentecostals of Santa Fe.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter Paul “WP” and Phyllis Jewel “PJ” (Conley) Hamilton.
Survivors include his loving wife of 5 years, Sue Ellen Hamilton; sons, Michael Paul Hamilton and fiancé, Rachel Riley, Christopher Paul Hamilton and fiancé, Kristina Batten, Travis Spires; daughter Jennifer Davis Hamilton Chapa and husband, Javier, Sr., Patricia Marie Groce and husband, Jerrid; sisters, Elizabeth Hamilton, Barbara Hayes and husband, Allen, Tammy Seyfried and husband, Edward; grandchildren, Sean Michael Herrington, Jorja Lynn Hamilton, Christopher Paul Hamilton, II, Tazz Williams, Sky Spires, Javier Chapa, Jr.; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
No public services are planned at this time. A private cremation was conducted under the direction of Hayes Funeral Home, 10412 Highway 6, (409) 925-3501.
