Elsie Janelle Flournoy
SANTA FE - Mrs. Elsie Janelle Flournoy passed from this life Tuesday morning, January 31, 2012, in Santa Fe.
Born November 13, 1938 in Port Arthur, Mrs. Flournoy had been a resident of Santa Fe for 40 years, previously of Texas City. She spent her life making a loving home for her family. Her passions included reading, playing piano, going to the beach, walking at the mall but most of all her dog, “Taco” and her two cats, “Callie” and “Rowdy”.
Preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Martha Evans and brother, Donald Evans; survivors include her best friend and companion, C.D. “Bubba” Flournoy of Sour Lake; son, Charles Damon Flournoy of Sour Lake; daughter, Guyla Angell and husband, Mark of Santa Fe; grandson, Clyde Michael McCullough, III; sisters, Janene Miller and husband Frank, of Bryan, Billie Hewitt and husband, Shelton of Morgan City, LA, Zenobia Prejean and husband, Lee of Beaumont; numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 4, 2012, at the chapel of Hayes Funeral Home, 10412 Highway 6, Hitchcock, TX, (409) 925-3501. Graveside service and interment will be 3:00 p.m., Saturday, at Pine Ridge Cemetery, Pine Ridge, TX.
Pallbearers will be Brian Angeron, Chris Angeron, Isaac Angeron, Colt Streckfuss, Mara Streckfuss and Bill Trahan.
Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Those who wish may make memorials in the form of donations to the Humane Society or a charity of their choice.
