Kenneth Roland McGinnes
SANTA FE - Mr. Kenneth Roland McGinnes passed from this life Friday afternoon, January 20, 2012, in Houston, after a long fight with cancer.
Born October 18, 1959 in Texas City; Mr. McGinnes had been a lifelong resident of Galveston County. He was a diesel mechanic since 1978, working at McGinnes Diesel since 1993, formerly with Pearland Diesel. Kenneth was involved with the Galveston County Fair and Rodeo, a member of Arcadia Christian Church and a GCCA member. His passions included hunting, fishing but most of all his family, where he will be remembered as a wonderful husband, father, son and brother.
Preceded in death by his grandparents, George and Verva Roberts, Tots and Dorothy McGinnes; survivors include his loving wife of 29 years, Beth Ann McGinnes; sons, Kris McGinnes, Matthew McGinnes; daughter, Stephanie McGinnes; parents, Roland and Betty McGinnes; sisters, April Pothier and husband, Mike, Tracy Thompson and husband, Billy; numerous other extended family and a host of close friends. Special thanks to his best friend, Steve Upton.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 24, 2012, at Arcadia Christian Church, under the direction of Hayes Funeral Home, 10412 Highway 6, (409) 925-3501, with Pastor Ed Skidmore officiating.
Honorary casketbearers will be Kenneth Affolter, Paul Bush, Irvine Jardine, Alan Kuehl, Mike Pothier, Keith Tyner and Steve Upton.
Visitation will be 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
