Erica Brooke Morgan

SANTA FE – Ms. Erica Brooke Morgan passed from this life Tuesday evening, April 9, 2024, in Santa Fe.

Born March 7, 1989, in Texas City, Ms. Morgan had been a lifelong resident of Santa Fe. Erica was a creative soul who found joy in the art of crafting, had a deep love for horses and a talent for showing them and was a dedicated athlete who excelled on the softball field. Known for her impeccable organizational skills, Erica had a knack for keeping things running smoothly in every aspect of her life. But Erica's greatest joy came from helping others. She had a heart of gold and a selfless spirit, always ready to lend a helping hand. Her generosity and compassion touched the lives of countless people, leaving behind a legacy of love and kindness that will never be forgotten. Erica's memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew her, her laughter, kindness, and unwavering spirit will continue to inspire and uplift all who were fortunate enough to call her friend.

She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Joyce Curry; stepfather, Darrin Nelson.

Survivors include the father of their boys, Brandon Malm, Sr. of Marble Falls; mother, Stephanie Nelson of Marble Falls; father and stepmother, Dale and Mechell Morgan of Hitchcock; sons, Dylan Malm, Hayden Malm, Caleb Malm, Brandon Malm, Jr. of Marble Falls; grandson, Ethan Lee Malm; brothers, Colton Morgan of Marble Falls, Tyler Morgan of Santa Fe, Paul Cantrell, Jr. of Hitchcock; sisters, Rebecca Smith of Hitchcock, Shana Cantrell of Santa Fe; grandfather, James W. Curry of Santa Fe; grandmother, Lahonda Roberts of Kingsland; aunts, Cathy Winters and husband, Ken of Santa Fe, Lahonda Tiner of Johnson City; cousins, Kristin Cottrill of Santa Fe, Ashley Valdez of Alvin, Leah Tiner of Hubert, NC, Newt Tiner of Saratoga Springs, NY.

Visitation with the family will be from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m., followed by a funeral service at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 17, 2024, in the chapel of Hayes Funeral Home, 10412 Highway 6, Hitchcock, with Pastor Joshua McDonald officiating.
