Roy L. Hedgpeth
SANTA FE - Mr. Roy L. Hedgpeth passed from this life Wednesday morning, October 26, 2011, in Santa Fe after a lengthy illness.
Born March 30, 1929 in Hamilton, TX, Mr. Hedgpeth had been a 37 year resident of Santa Fe. He retired from Industrial and Marine Power Systems in 2002, was a 32nd degree Mason with the Doric Lodge #205 F. & A.M. in Morgan City, LA and was a charter member of the Galveston County Ranchers Association. Roy enjoyed playing golf, working crossword puzzles, playing his guitar, and was an avid football and baseball fan, his favorite teams being the Houston Astros, Texas Rangers and the Dallas Cowboys.
Preceded in death by his parents, Annabelle and O.N. “Buster” Hedgpeth; daughter, Casey Lynn Hedgpeth; sister, Martha Oliver and brother, Valton; survivors include his loving wife of 54 years, Sharon; daughters, Shelley Nebout and husband, Martin, Connie Snider and husband, Greg, Sheila Herrington; son, William Hedgpeth and wife, Dee Ann; grandchildren, Jennifer Gibson and partner, Jason Hunter, Kelly Snider, Katie and Jerry Benavides, Erin Snider, Sara Snider, Parker Theriot, Heather Boff, Rachel Theriot, Garrett Hedgpeth, Christa Hedgpeth, Connor Herrington, Sean Hedgpeth, several great-grandchildren; brother, Coy Hedgpeth and wife Lorraine; sister Mary Lea Speights and nephew, Harley Hedgpeth.
Memorial services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, October 29, 2011, at Hayes Funeral Home, 10412 Highway 6, (409) 925-3501, Reverend C. Wayne Clement officiating.
