Shirley Ann Haggard


SANTA FE – Shirley Ann Haggard, passed from this life early Saturday morning, August 9, 2008, at home surrounded by her family.


Born May 17, 1940 in Fort Smith, Arkansas, Shirley had been a life long area resident of Santa Fe.  She had been a Beautician for over 20 years, enjoyed playing cards, dominos, going to gamerooms and most of all she loved her family. 


She is preceded in death by her parents, Patrick and Ruby Martin, Sr.; sisters, Reba Hale, Louise Swint, Betty Rawson and Patsy Langley.


Survivors include her husband, Don Brannen of Santa Fe; daughters, Robin Lynne Chipman and husband, Russell, Sr. of Texas City, Shirlene Rene Hutto and son-in-law, Frank Kelly of Santa Fe; sons, Brett Brannen and wife, Brenda of Galveston, Don Brannen, Jr. of League City; grandchildren, Stacy Hutto-Rickman, Nikki Chipman, Russell Chipman, Jr., Nicholas Brannen, Sarah Brannen, Chase Brannen; great grandson, Bryan Dennis; brother, Pat Martin, Jr. of Fort Smith, Arkansas; sisters, Lois Wright of Arizona, Ruby May of Hull, Texas; numerous nieces, nephews and other family and friends.


Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 12, 2008, in the chapel of Hayes Funeral Home with Chaplain Evelyn Lupardus officiating.  Interment will follow at Galveston Memorial Park Cemetery.


Casketbearers will be Russell Chipman, Jr., Russell Chipman, Sr., Frank Kelly, Ricky Langley, Matt Martin and Robert Roepcke. Honorary bearers will be Bryan Dennis and Bobby Roepcke.
