Stephen “Red” Plash, III
SANTA FE – Captain Stephen “Red” Plash, III passed away suddenly Monday night, August 29, 2011, surrounded by his family.
Born on August 13, 1958, in Texas City, he was a lifelong resident of Galveston County. Mr. Plash was an accomplished Captain who trained at Piney Point, MD, and retired from G&H Towing after 25 years on the water. He was a fun loving, life of the party friend to all who knew him, and enjoyed BBQ cook-offs, anything to do with the water, playing on the Guadalupe River and dominoes, but seriously disliked cutting grass!
He was preceded in death by his parents, Captain Steve “Pop” Plash, Jr. and Geraldine “Nanny” Plash; and first wife, Lisa Plash.
Survivors include his sons, Stephen Monroe Plash, IV and fiancé, Jennifer Srubar, Skyler Matthew Plash; friend and mother of Skyler, Sandy Ashlock, all of League City; sister, Vicki Kenworthy and her husband, Tom of Santa Fe; and devoted friends, W.C. Curry and David Ferris.
Funeral services will be conducted 10:00 a.m. Friday, September 2, 2011, in the chapel of Hayes Funeral Home with Reverend C. Wayne Clement officiating.
Visitation will be from 5 - 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, 10412 Highway 6, (409) 925-3501.
