Vada Haviland

 

     SANTA FE - Mrs. Vada Haviland passed from this life Monday evening, September 10, 2007, in Houston.

 

     Born September 9, 1919 in White City, TX, Mrs. Haviland had been a resident of Santa Fe for 19 years, previously of Broaddus, TX.  She had worked alongside her husband and grandson on a crew boat for 4 years, was a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church, liked to visit resale shops and enjoyed working in her yard. 

 

     She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Harold Grant Haviland; daughter and son-in-law, Dorothy and Bernhard Anderson; parents, Jim and Molly (Marshall) Olson and numerous brothers and sisters.

 

     Survivors include her grandchildren, Jimmy Anderson and wife, Gerrie, Spring Suza; great-granddaughter, Lindsey Anderson; numerous nieces and nephews, including special nieces, Opal Mott and Arley Mae Olson.

 

     Funeral services will be conducted 3:00 p.m. Friday, September 14, 2007, in the chapel of Hayes Funeral Home with Dr. J. Keith Broyles officiating.  Interment will follow at Galveston Memorial Park Cemetery.

 

     Casketbearers will be Robert Spiller, Mark Suza, Troy Suza, Chris Vancleve and Jason Webster.
