Captain William Wiley Gregory
William Wiley Gregory, 67, left us from his residence in Dickinson, TX October 31, 2010. He was born January 26, 1943 to Archie and Nancy Brewer Gregory of Clifton By The Sea, TX.
Memorial services will be held at Hayes Funeral Home, 10412 Highway Six, 409-925-3501, Saturday, November 13, 2010 at 1 p.m., visitation beginning at 11 a.m.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Billy Gregory.
He is survived by his wife, Eliosa; sister Joyce Jolly and husband Donald; sons Wade and Troy Gregory and wife Teresa; daughters Judy, Gina, Becky and Angel; several grandchildren; 1 great grandson; nephews Dennis and Darryl Jolly and wife Angel; niece Brenda and husband Mike Pantalion; niece Ramona Laymance; niece Jackie and husband Frank Wilson; many cousins and friends around the world.
Wiley proudly served in the United States Air Force and began his career in 1965 at NASA as Lunar Landing Training Vehicle Assistant. In 1968 he became chief pilot for U.S. Public Health Military Hospital transporting patients. In 1970, as their Captain Corporate Jet Pilot in the JetStar aircraft, he joined Gulf Oil, Hobby Houston, where he first retired. Then he captained for California Edison Electric, the Kaiser Company and as Contract Pilot throughout the Middle East, Europe and Africa. Serving as Chief Pilot/Director of Operations in 2000 with Global Jet, Dubai UAI, he was licensed in two countries for Airline Transport, was also Certified Flight Instructor in single and multi engines and held Flight Safety certification for 33 years. He safely logged 17,800 hours in the air. When not flying he enjoyed fishing, barbeques, or any outdoor activity that involved his family and friends who will miss him very much.
In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes the idea of donations to Shriners Burn Institute, Galveston or any charity of your choice in memory of Captain W. Wiley “Greg” Gregory.
